YOUR BEST WORKOUT • TOGETHER
Kangatraining is a complete workout during which both cardiovascular endurance/flexibility and muscular capacity/strength are enhanced. Unlike traditional exercise classes, new mums need not worry about finding a babysitter or minding an unsettled baby during class because the babies are worn on them and get to be part of the action! As well as the physical benefits, the opportunity to meet other local mums in a fun, relaxed environment boosts their emotional wellbeing.
The pelvic floor and abdominal muscles as well as correct posture are given special attention. Kangatrainers are also trained in babywearing best practices and can help mums ensure the safest and most comfortable carrying positions for their babies.
The name ‘Kangatraining’ comes from ‘Winnie the Poo’ where by the Kanga mother dotes on her playful and energetic baby joey Roo!
Kangatraining Instructors:
As mums of young children themselves, Kangatraining instructors understand that embarking on a post-baby fitness program can be daunting. All instructors are fully certified, having completed a training course in Melbourne, first aid certifications, and exams in anatomy, postnatal health, and babywearing safety.
When to start
You can begin Kangatraining once you have been given the “all clear” from your health professional to resume exercising postpartum. This can be anywhere from 6-10 weeks or slightly longer following a caesarean section. Our Kangatrainers will ask you to complete a health questionnaire to highlight any concerns so that they may modify the exercises in the workout for you. To see results sooner it is advised to attend a Kangatraining class once a week and workout with the DVD at home twice a week!
Babywearing Safety
Without a doubt, safety is the number one consideration when using a baby carrier. Many popular carriers, although not posing an immediate threat, are not optimally designed to support the natural development of baby’s hips and spine. Babies should be worn in a carrier that ensures that their legs are supported, in an “M” position with knees splayed out, and facing inward towards the wearer.
You are welcome to bring your carrier that our trainers will assess as to its suitability for the class. We will also assist you in getting the best fit and comfort for you and your baby. There will be demo carriers available at each class to try out or hire on an ongoing basis.
Every Kangatraining instructor works closely with a Babywearing Consultant to ensure correct babywearing practices are met.
So come along and give it a go, you and your baby will love it!

30 Day Challenge Core Blast Barre Class
What is barre, exactly? If you've never tried Barre with Elise, here's your chance!
Barre class is a workout technique inspired by elements of ballet, yoga, and Pilates It focuses on low-impact, high-intensity movements designed to strengthen your body in ways that few other workouts can.
In addition to building strength, this full-body workout also develops agility and flexibility. You'll use your body weight to churn out rep after rep of muscle-burning move. What kind of workout is a barre class, then?
Each barre class is designed to be a full-body, muscle endurance workout. Typically, they're broken into different sections that focus on major muscle groups including the arms, legs, glutes, and core.
"The muscles in each group are fatigued via small targeted movements, high numbers of repetitions. Think pulsing in a squat to target the glutes and quads, or moving through a lively plank sequence.
We guarantee barre class will leave your muscles burning.
"Sections of class are also paired with stretching to increase overall flexibility. So if you struggle with how to become more flexible, barre class is a great choice.
So, what are the benefits of barre class?
Barre builds strength and muscle and does your flexibility a solid.
But the benefits don't end there. Barre class also boosts endurance, improves balance, increases range of motion, and promotes better posture (something we allneed). The result of many of these perks: It can support weight management, too.
Because so many of the moves you'll work through in class get your abs and back fired up, you can bet you'll sculpt a stronger, more defined core.
Plus, even if your primary focus is on getting ready for a race (or something like that), barre class can be a great form of cross training to maintain strength and well-rounded fitness.
This is a private workshop for those participating in the 30 Day Challenge. Drop in pass available for purchase for non challengers. $ 22
