Getting To Know Your Nervous System
Getting to know your Nervous system.
And how to work with (not against) yourself in pursuing your goals.
Are you curious about your nervous system? What is it? How does it work? What do I do with it?
This small-group (limit 10), hand-on workshop is designed to expand your self-awareness and equip you with the knowledge and tools you need to:
Understand and connect with your own nervous system
Be less prone to distraction and aimlessness
Be less susceptible to the subconscious manipulation
Become better able to align your actions with your values and goals
Improve your ability to self-regulate in times of stress
Improve your self-compassion and self-confidence.
Learn how to pursue your goals with more ease and less "willpower"
You might be asking "what does the nervous system have to do with aimlessness, self-compassion, and willpower"?
Short answer: Everything. When your nervous system is activated, your ability to think, plan, and execute are severely handicapped. Conversely, when you learn how to consciously engage with your nervous system, and you practice this over time, you will begin to flow with life instead of fighting against it.
Is it hard for you to sit alone in silence? Do you tend to fill every spare moment with entertainment and distractions, even when you don't want to? Is it difficult or impossible to remain focused on working toward your goals? Your nervous system is likely playing a large role here. This workshop is your opportunity to learn the foundational knowledge you need to take control over your own body and eventually, over your own life.
On Sunday December 1 [1pm – 3:30pm], join us at Invati Yoga in Kelowna. This will not be a workshop where we all just sit around talking in serious voices. There will be lots of movement and exercises designed to help you integrate new information in a playful and productive way.
